Please note that in order to register for this class, you must have completed my Level 5 class or requested an assessment. This is to ensure student success and enjoyment! Bonjour les amis et bienvenue! Hello friends and welcome! In Level 6 french, we will continue to explore vocabulary through immersion-style exercises. Through a variety of topics (noted below), students will explore important vocabulary in context through listening, reading, writing and speaking activities. Classes are taught using a variety of techniques including text, songs, flashcards, videos, etc. When possible the material is presented in a variety of ways to appeal to different learning styles. Students will pick different famous figures throughout French history to present to the class as our final project. Research is required for this project, so we will discuss different research techniques, how to tell if a website is a credible source and the concept of plagiarism. Week 1 - Introductions - Students will interview each other and introduce one another to the class Week 2 - le corps humain (the human body) Week 3 - l'environnement (the environment) Week 4 - les insectes (Insects) Week 5 - le cycle de l'eau (The Water Cycle) Week 6 - Histoire du Quebec (History of Quebec) Week 7 - Histoire du Quebec, part 2 Week 8 - Final Presentations, virtual bilingual field trip
Learning Goals
- Students will improve their reading comprehension techniques and learn how to use images and inferential information to formulate answers
- Students will use written text to model proper sentence structure
- Students will learn basic research techniques, including an introduction to plagiarism

I have my Bachelor of Education (with distinction). I graduated high school with my "certificat de langue maternelle" (French mother tongue certificate) and I live in a fully bilingual environment (Montreal, Quebec).
I speak French daily, teach and tutor in French and can't wait to share my knowledge of the French language and culture with you.
