Hello learners and families! I have so much gratitude for being a part of the Outschool community.
My undergraduate degree is in elementary education but I also have experience teaching in the junior high setting. I tutored grades 5-11 math for six years and enjoyed every hour I spent with the students. Though my intention was to create many math classes here on Outschool, I am finding that I love to design and teach classes that are more suited to the 'Life Skills' category. I love to break down tasks for students and empower them with academic skills that are often left out of the traditional curriculum: test-taking, studying, note-taking, etc.
When I am not teaching, I enjoy playing soccer and badminton, as well as training for long-distance running races (when there's no snow here in Canada!)
I fully believe that I will learn as much from the students as they will learn from me; I value collaboration and discussion. A question from a student is a "peek" into their brain for me.
I look forward to teaching your child!
