Class Experience

US Grade 7 - 10
13 to 16 years old section.

This class is the one-time introduction to my four-week course on beginner dog agility exercises. You can opt to do the four-week course after taking this class, or take it on its own.

This one-time class is a perfect introduction to the sport of agility. Students will be introduced to the sport by a short presentation, followed by specific exercises to do with their own dog. These exercises are beneficial for anyone wanting to start doing agility, or for anyone who just wants to spend more time training their dog and strengthen their bond with their dog.

These exercises are fun, simple, and useful in our day-to-day lives. For example, the first exercise that we will focus on in this class will be "sit stay". We will explain how to progress your dog's "sit stay" by doing fun exercises and challenges. "Sit stays" are crucial to the sport of agility, and is incredibly useful in real life too.

Other exercises and tricks include collar grabs, hand touches, and right/left spins. Each of these will be explained in its most simple sense, followed by ways to further challenge and improve your dog. Most importantly, the goal is to have fun and bond with your dog!

The exercises will either be taught live or by videos. Short in-class training sessions will be provided after each new exercise, if time allows.

**For more detailed exercises and more advancement, join my four-week class "Beginner Dog Agility: Easy Exercises You Can Do at Home With Your Dog". In this class, we will cover the exercises introduced in this class, and many more! The four-week class is more interactive and feedback is given on the student's progress each week. It is also available in Flex format.
Learning Goals
Students will bond with their dog through multiple exercises and trick learning. The exercises are also useful for day-to-day activities and making your dog more safe and responsive. Students will also improve their understanding of the sport of dog agility.

- Yummy treats! I typically use high-value treats like cheese, hot dogs, freeze-dried meats, cooked chicken, etc.
- Their favorite toy(s).
- A leash. 6 feet is typical.
- A fun positive attitude! Dogs can sometimes be frustrating to work with. This makes success even more rewarding in the end!
