Introduction to Clay

In this one-time class, students will learn the basics of clay by using air dry clay. Together we will make a clay creation using the techniques taught in class. Students will be able to ask me questions throughout the clay making portion.

US Grade 1 - 4
Beginner Level
  • Students will learn basic clay techniques and then use those techniques to create a unique piece of art.
I am an elementary school teacher and teach clay to all of my students from Kindergarten to Fifth grade. Clay can be a fun medium to work with once you know the basics! I am here to teach the basics and give students a strong foundation to build upon.

Clay is a medium that appeals to many types of learners. If students need assistance or extra explanation, they can ask during the working portion of the class. 
 1 file available upon enrollment
A one-page handout will be provided so students can reference as needed. 2.5 lb container of Crayola Air Dry Clay (any color) a small cup of water an old toothbrush/dull plastic knife for scoring clay
