1 live meeting
30 mins in-class hoursClass Experience
I will show and talk about the different chess tactics and the types of strategies they offer. Students will see on a chessboard how these strategies work. We will discuss the levels of strength each option offers. We will talk about the King and Queen and their roles in the game. I learned to play at age seven and have enjoyed the game ever since. I was in the chess club during school and would encourage students to join or start a chess club. If time allows, students will learn how to set up the board. Students are encouraged to bring their boards to class.
Learning Goals
Students will learn the names and movements of well-known strategies: the pin, fork, skewer, castle, stalemate. They will also learn the grid system for calling moves.
Age is not a factor as skills are the focus
