I have been in education for 10+ years – split between teaching CTE Computer Applications at the middle school level and teaching various grades and subjects at the elementary school level, including K-5 Computer Technology. I have also virtually taught English as a Second Language, foundational reading/math skills, and technology/computer science classes. I have previously written elementary STEM and elementary coding curricula for a STEM company and worked part-time as a children's library aide at my local public library running computer technology, coding, and drone programs. For the last almost 3 years now I've worked in bids and proposals as a proposal specialist and proposal writer for two different education curriculum companies.
I have a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education and English for Speakers of Other Languages and a Master's Degree in Educational Technology both from Pittsburg State University. I am also a Kansas licensed teacher in Early/Late Childhood (K-6), English for Speakers of Other Languages (PreK-12), and Business (6-12).
I love bringing my positive, high energy, smiling self to class and providing lots of encouragement and support. I love to be a listening ear, loving heart, and building relationships with my students. I look forward to teaching classes providing 1 on 1 reading support, 1 on 1 computer/technology skills, and of course fun social clubs about dogs and include my own two dogs. :-)
When I’m not working or teaching, I love spending time with my husband and our dogs, enjoying a book and a good cup of coffee, traveling and visiting family and friends.
