Create HTML web pages. Learn how to title your page and what that means, learn how to add viewable text, learn how to create buttons, how to add images, how to create links, and how to play audio files. Style your web page with CSS (Cascading Style Sheets). Set background colors, text size, text color, font styles and more. Learn how to create custom classes and ids to control the styling of individual elements. We work very closely with our students to ensure they are getting the attention and assistance they need. Since we offer classes with a lower student to teacher ratio, we can provide a closer eye on each student to ensure they are understanding and learning from the material as best as possible. We engage and interact with our students along with their learning from our Learning Management System to provide a more complete experience, we challenge them, encourage them, talk with them, to help make the class more interesting and worthwhile.
Classes 1 and 2:
Students will learn about the basics of Web Design in Chapter 1. They will learn to make a basic webpage with headers, paragraphs, images, lists, and anchors. Once they complete the website, they will move on to Chapter 2.
Classes 3 and 4:
Students will learn some basic CSS in Chapter 2. They will learn to modify their website to have different colors, fonts, sizes. With knowledge of both basic HTML and CSS they will be able to construct a nice looking simple website.
Classes 5 and 6:
Students will continue with Chapter 2. They will learn more about aligning content and adding borders as well as writing more efficient code to make their website even better. Students will pass upon completion of the final website project. From here they will be ready to move on to the next Web Development course.
Learning Goals
Students will learn to apply design principles with the html and css code they learn to make professional looking websites.
