Intro to Sound Science
In this 4 week course students will learn how sound functions in our world. They will learn the science behind the production of sound, and how it interacts in different spaces.

1 hour per week. At the end of the course students will be required to write a short paragraph on one topic we covered that they found interesting. They will need to explain why they found it interesting, as well as how it relates to their life.Certificate of Completion

Beginner Level
In this course the basic concepts behind sound production and interaction will be taught. We will cover topics such as properties of sound, types of sound waves, anatomy of the ear, recording and reproduction of sound, acoustic architecture, sound management and much more. The class will be broken into 4 lessons that occur once a week. In each lesson students will be engaged in a lecture for the first half, and interactive discussion for the last half. There will be interactive slide shows with videos and pictures to demonstrate the different properties of sound.
Learning Goals
Students will be able to be able to explain how sound is produced.
Students will have a working knowledge of how music is recorded.
