Class Experience

Blender is a fantastic tool that is slowly becoming the leading 3d software. Blender used in Unity, 3d modeling, and animation. Many professional studios are now making the switch into Blender. A great example of this is Pixar used Blender to model Mr. Incredible! This class is for the complete beginner, where each session students create something in Blender that they can share! The end goal of this class is for each student to have a 3d showreel. By creating a showreel now, it will help them grow their careers in the 3d graphics space!

Blender is free to download at https://www.blender.org

This is a multi-day class where each class we are working on a 3d character. Its really hard to miss classes, since everything is built own each other!
=============BEE============
Class 1: We model a Bee! We use a pre made clay and plastic material to make a really cool Bee!
Class 2: We rig the Bee so we can animate it!
Class 3: Using shapkeys, we can now animate the mouth of the Bee!
===========FLOWER===========
Class 4: We model the flower!
Class 5: We rig the flower and give it some squash and stretch!
Class 6: Using shape keys, we can now animate the mouth of the flower!
Class 7: Using a under tale music video of "flowy" we make are own using that as a reference and using the audio. This is a "test" of the flower rig, when you make a 3d character you do "test" animations to see if there is anything you need to modify or add in the rig.
=========STICK FIGURE=========
Class 8: we model and rig the stick figure!
Class 9: we add predefined mouth shapes, this makes it easer to animate and give it a stop motion feel. But, it will not be as smooth as shapkeys. We learn the pro and con of each method.
Class 10: Students create their own character! Using everything we learn in class, I will help each student fulfill their vision of their 3d character!
Learning Goals
The end goal is for students to be able to create and animate their own 3d characters from scratch after this class.
