Class Experience

Improv is a skillset that can be applied to all aspects of life.
Developing Confidence? Not freezing when the pressure is on? Learning
how to work well with others? Thinking outside of the box? All of
these, and more, are essential Improv skills. The more you practice
the stronger it gets, just like any muscle!

This course will go over Improv basics and concepts, while also
teaching exercises that can be used to practice and develop these
skills over time. This course is both for the analytical note-takers
to develop greater appreciation for the things they observe, AND for
the energetic go-getters to help them channel their passion for the
things they do. No matter who you are, you will find your comfort zone
and be pushed outside of it in a safe, approachable, and healthy way.

Each meeting of this course will consist of a brief, instructor-led,
lecture for your learners to be given the information and allow for
preliminary Q&A to encourage analysis and participation. The meeting
will then proceed to activity/exercises that are learner-led to
encourage retention of the lecture information as well as develop the
concepts themselves. Each meeting will be 55 minutes long with a 5 minute
“Bio Break” after 25 minutes; because even the best students need a
breather. Concepts will repeated so there is no being left behind for any learners that cannot
attend consecutively or “drop-in” to the course mid-way.
