Class Experience

Description:
Do you love telling stories? In this one-time class, we’ll dive into the world of creative storytelling using the IEW writing method! Whether you dream of writing exciting adventures or personal stories, this class is a fun way to explore how to make your writing shine.

We’ll kick things off with a warm welcome and a quick rundown of how we’ll work together during class—keeping things fun, focused, and creative.

First Stop:
We’ll explore the magic behind great stories! Together, we’ll uncover the key ingredients like characters, settings, and conflict (think: what makes a story thrilling or heartwarming!). Through lively group activities, you’ll also get to practice using quality verbs and strong nouns—those perfect words that make your writing pop.

Next Adventure:
Now it's time to dive into the story sequence chart! This is a simple but powerful tool to help you organize your story from beginning to end. We’ll walk through how to craft a story with a solid start, an exciting middle, and a satisfying end. Then, we’ll all work together in a group storytelling activity, where we’ll create a mini adventure of our own!

Final Wrap-Up:
To finish, we’ll do a quick review game to make sure you feel confident about what we’ve learned—looking at the key parts of a story and how to bring them all together.

After class, you’ll receive a fun storytelling assignment where you can let your imagination run wild! If you want feedback on your work, feel free to send it to me through Outschool messaging for some personalized tips and encouragement!
