Ever wondered what is below your feet? Like WAY below? Take a journey through the Earth, from an Earthquake at the surface all the way through the core and out the other side. We use seismic waves to tell us about the mantle, core & crust.

Class Experience
To learn about science without realising it, because you are having fun! By the end of the class the student will understand all the main layers of the Earth and how they relate to the rock formations we see across our beautiful planet. They will also be introduced to how Seismology (recording Earthquake waves) and Magnetism are used in Geophysics to investigate deep below the Earth's surface.
I have a BSc in Geology and an MSc in Geophysics and have chosen the most interesting and exciting subjects to teach to get young minds excited about Earth Sciences.
None. Although (on request) students can be directed to other external sources discussing this area of Geology. I can also schedule a discussion group, or an advanced class (or classes), if your child wants to explore this subject further.
None. Although (on request) the student can be sent a quick quiz on the lesson to test what they remember from the class.
40 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
This class uses screen share to show PowerPoint slides with text and pictures. Some classes also show short videos. No other 3rd party tools are used.
