In this 3-week camp, students will receive a first exposure to the world of Drama, Improv, and Shakespeare! Within this interactive classroom, students will build theatrical skills through acting exercises and many drama games.

Class Experience
Within this 3-week camp, students will learn introductory acting skills. They will take part in many activities that encourage students to develop their imaginations, physicality/movement, and the importance of cooperation. Students will begin each day of camp by taking part in The Actor’s Toolbox. This is an acting ritual that builds classroom community, but also provides students with the metaphorical “tools” that will be needed to become a successful performer. Afterwards, students...
- - Engage in imaginative play. - Demonstrate the give and take essential to effective collaboration. - Demonstrate active listening. - Use variations of voice, movement, and gestures.
- Class will incorporate C.H.A.M.P.S. (Conversation, Help, Activity, Movement, Participation, and Success) This is a system of expectations that will be covered before each day of camp. It is an opportunity for students to ask clarifying questions and to help create a successful and safe learning environment. - Physical activity will not be overly strenuous. Students are encouraged but not required to wear comfortable clothing that supports flexible movement.
