In this class we will be learning how to create delicious pizza, starting with a yeast based dough. We will discuss how yeast works and practice kneading dough. We will then assemble pizzas, using sauce and toppings of the students' choice. We will also discuss different types of crusts and how to achieve them based on pan and oven temp differences. We will discuss the basics of cooking: accurate measuring, how to choose ingredients, and chopping techniques, cooking techniques, how to pair seasonings to build a flavor profile, etc. This is a hands on and participation based class! It is designed to be fun and interactive. Your student needs some basic knowledge of using knives, stove, etc.(adult supervision/assistance is recommended when handling the oven and stove for younger students). This is an intermediate level class and intended to develop skills and knowledge in the kitchen in a fun filled way! This will be a relaxed learning experience using step-by-step instructions and opportunity for questions as we go. I will be utilizing demonstration and discussion methods to provide information to students, as well as reference recipe that can be printed and referred back to.
