In this class, young learners (ESL students are welcome, too!) can pick any of the interactive storybook games in my collection to read and play along with. Games will feature different pages of the book with animations and voice acting, as well as funny animations that happen when you click on certain parts of the page. After each page has been read aloud, I will give each student a turn with remote control of the screen to click around the screen for a funny animation. How many turns each...
Students will hear a fun story and have a chance to improve their reading, listening, and vocabulary skills. ESL learners will also have a chance to improve their pronunciation and conversational skills. "Milly Fitzwilly's Mouse Catcher" is witty and full of humor. It's educational value lies mostly in the reading practice it offers, but the story has made it a fan favorite in my home since the 90's. "Little Monster Private Eye: The Smelly Mystery" involves a small logic puzzle in the form of finding the right spot on each page to look for clues. This isn't necessary and I'm happy to help any little ones who're having a hard time with this aspect of the game. I'm happy to let them click wherever they want on each page and click the clue for them before turning to the next. The end of the story also involves a game where you match up the clues you've found to figure out whodunnit. "The Berenstain Bears: In The Dark" is about being brave and learning that the things in the dark aren't really so scary after all, using a friendly family of fuzzy bears in a cozy tree house to show that, even when the lights are out, everything is okay.
I began teaching as a teacher's assistant around 2007. I recieved my TESOL in 2019 and have been teaching English as a second language ever since. I have taught over 8700 classes, with anywhere from 1-5 students ages 2-15, as well as several other types of classes geared towards art, crafting, and games.
5 files available upon enrollmentAs the game will be shared in a screen-share, you won't need to bring anything to class.
In this class, I will be sharing an interactive storybook game of the learners' choosing in a screen-share. All games are family-friendly and contain content and humor safe for very young learners, but entertaining enough to engage older elementary-aged children as well.
I will be sharing the games in a screen-share, so no account will be needed.
