Hello Parents! Welcome to my classroom!
My name is Mrs. Shana, (pronounced Shawna) and I have 6 years experience as an Online ESL Teacher as well as a homeschool parent of 3 for the last 11 years. I teach a wide variety of subjects ranging from Preschool through 11th grade. My professional background includes BS in Biblical Studies, I am currently working on my Master's Degree. I have TESOL and TEFL Certification to teach English virtually. In addition, I regularly further my teaching education with workshops and classes to equip me to better serve my students.
As an educator, I believe that our children have a wonderful opportunity to build relationships with students and teachers online while supplementing their education through Outschool classes. My passion is designing and teaching classes that educate my ESL learners to learn conversational English. I focus on simple, achievable goals that build confidence and solid English skill sets for life. Each of my classes are created with an approach that facilitates each students individual learning needs. The goal of each of my classes is to connect with each student in a way that leaves them feeling valued and accomplished. I believe my students work best when they are praised and encouraged in the classroom. .
My family and I live on a farm in Eastern Kentucky. We love animals and the outdoors. We are dog lovers, we have 6 dachshunds that your student may get to see from time to time. When I am not teaching, we like to work on our farm or travel to the beach. I hope to see you soon in my classroom! ~Mrs. Shana
