WELCOME! This course is appropriate for any student wanting to prepare for the 2024 New Digital SAT. Do note that the reading levels of the passages range from 8th grade and beyond. Students will work to prepare for the 2024 English and Math section of the Digital SAT.
I am a certified current secondary teacher. I have taken 2 workshops (including the Indiana GEAR Up Digital SAT professional development workshop) that cover ways to prepare students for the SAT and PSAT. I also tutor students in preparing for the SAT and teach a SAT/ACT course at my brick and mortar high school. Additionally, I am a SAT testing coordinator and administrator at my school. I tutor/teach various test prep classes: ISSE, NWEA, SAT/PSAT, AP, IB, SHSAT, ILEARN, PERT, and ACT. Experience/Education: -Brick and Mortar Teacher for 7 years (current) -Outschool Teacher for 3 years (current) -BS in Education (Reading/English 3-12, Gifted Education 3-12, Special Education 5-12) -Masters of Arts In English Teaching -Certification in High Ability/Gifted Learning Strategies -Certification in Teaching Students with Learning Exceptionalities -DSAT/SAT/PSAT/ACT Testing Administrator (5 years) -Harkness Socratic Seminar Trained (Summer of 2023) -National Writing Project Trained (Summer of 2023) I am a secondary English teacher with certifications in gifted education and special education. I have been professionally teaching for 7 years and have a masters of arts in English education. I enjoy using socratic and discussion-based learning to help students think deeply about the texts that they read.

Certificate of Completion will be given. All homework is graded with feedback.
Do note that the SAT reading utilizes dense nonfiction and classic literature. Lexile measures of the text are between 950-1400. Math topics are mostly algebra and geometry with some algebra 2 and trigonometric functions.
Scratch paper and a pencil or whiteboard/marker may be handy for the math portions

Optional Assignments may require students to have access to a google doc and log into Khan Academy (with a username and password; emails are not required). This component is optional as well.
