Lesson 1
Introduction to Informational Writing
Students will understand what informational writing is and learn what a fact is.
Lesson 2
What is Research?
Students will learn what research is, how to gather information about a chosen topic, and how to organize their findings using a mind map.
Lesson 3
Let's write!
In the "Let's Write!" section, students will transform the information from their mind maps into clear, informative sentences. They will learn how to construct sentences that share facts and details about their chosen topics. By the end of the session, students will have written their own short informational paragraphs, ready to share with the class!

Share Your Writing
Showcase and celebrate written work.

Details: Students will be asked to complete an informational writing piece. If parents choose, they can snap a photo of their child's completed work and send it over for personalized feedback from the teacher. Alternatively, parents may review their child's writing at home if that suits them better.

My classes are tailored towards English Language Learners with simple English, visual aids, interactive activities, and concise, comprehensible lessons. Students with ADHD, ASD, or speech and language delays can also benefit from this class
For our writing class, your child will need just a few simple things:

Paper or a notebook
A pencil or pen

A tablet with a writing app is also fine if you have one.
