**Please feel free to reach out and request a time for your lesson - I am happy to accommodate schedule requests** In this class, students will take private 30 minutes lessons with a concert pianist. Whether a student is a complete beginner and just learning notes at the piano or an advanced student focusing on auditions, Mr. Banka's patient and kind teaching style can help any learner improve their playing. Catering his teaching approach to each learner's unique set of needs, Mr. Banka will cover a wide range of topics, including piano technique, overall musicianship, sight-reading, music theory, and more. The objective of this course is to enhance a student's abilities in the following areas: -Technical prowess -Sight-reading -Understanding the score -Overall Musicianship -Ability to shade and color harmonic changes -Understanding of exercises including scales, arpeggios, and etudes -Memory at the piano -Performance confidence -Management of state fright and nerves -Classical music literacy -Ability to play a line beautifully -Music Theory -Knowledge of how to practice efficiently - About Mr. Banka - A graduate of Mannes School of Music (MM in piano performance 2021) and Florida State University (BM in piano performance 2018), Christopher Banka has won numerous solo and chamber piano awards. Mr. Banka has performed in more than 100 recitals, concerts, and masterclasses, including at the International Keyboard Institute & Festival, Kinhaven Music School, Meadowmount School of Music, the Princeton Festival, and Weill Recital Hall, Carnegie Hall. In 2020, Mr. Banka was selected to represent the state of New Jersey in the MTNA Young Artist Piano Competition. Mr. Banka has over nine years of experience in teaching piano and has helped hundreds of students achieve their musical goals.

A graduate of Mannes School of Music (MM in piano performance 2021) and Florida State University (BM in piano performance 2018), Christopher Banka has won numerous solo and chamber piano awards. Mr. Chris has performed in more than 100 recitals, concerts, and masterclasses, including at the International Keyboard Institute & Festival, Kinhaven Music School, Meadowmount School of Music, the Princeton Festival, and Weill Recital Hall, Carnegie Hall. In 2020, Mr. Chris was selected to represent the state of New Jersey in the MTNA Young Artist Piano Competition. He is currently studying piano with Vladimir Valjarević; previous teachers include Read Gainsford and Joel Hastings. Mr. Chris has over seven years of experience in teaching piano and has helped hundreds of students achieve their musical goals.
