20 mins in-class hours per weekClass Experience
Each class will begin with an interactive discussion. Students will have the chance to make their suggestions about the story. Should it be about dragons, astronauts, unicorns? Maybe all the above! The students will pick the who and what of the story, making them part of the storytelling process so the topic of each class is learner-directed. Students will then hear a completely original story improvised on the spot by an award-winning storyteller and improviser. Students will remain engaged with the story by being asked to provide sound effects and by giving input on character's decisions. The goal is to create a fun, interactive story together.
Learning Goals
The goal of this class is to entertain and to educate. Students will be sure to laugh, but they'll also get an introduction to storytelling. They'll learn how to tell stories and develop an appreciation for storytelling. The interactive nature of the class encourages collaboration and teaches students how to work with others.

Teacher expertise and credentials
I teach classes related to comedy and humor including sketch comedy, improv, and satire writing.
I'm an improvisor, comedian, and writer who has written professionally for web series, comic strips, and satirical publications like McSweeney's. I've been fortunate to graduate from the Second City's renowned Conservatory Program. - with leading comedy actors and writers including Kevin McDonald of TV's The Kids in the Hall and the movie Lilo & Stitch.
I believe that comedy has the ability to improve skills like interpersonal communication and writing as well as boost students' confidence. Whether a learner is the "class clown" or someone who is a bit more quiet, I aim to create a learning environment where they can have fun, gain confidence and learn new skills.
I have a bachelor of arts degree and a master's degree in business.
