As an experienced instructor with over 7 years of teaching and performing experience in improvisation comedy, I will guide your learner through the exciting process of creating comedic scenes and characters without the use of scripts. By learning the art of active listening and the "yes, and" technique, your child will develop their confidence, creativity, and communication skills. Not only is it a great way to foster their love of comedy but also to enhance their social and cognitive development. Every week in our Improv Class unfolds as a unique exploration of comedy and creativity. Through a series of fun and stimulating exercises, students will learn to generate humorous ideas spontaneously, transforming everyday situations into captivating comedic moments. Weekly, they'll adopt various amusing and interesting characters, evolving their acting skills alongside their comedic repertoire. As the course progresses, students will master comedic patterning, enabling them to sustain humor effortlessly throughout their performances. To ensure optimal growth, every session is carefully tailored to suit individual students' styles and needs, allowing them to harness their unique comedic voice and find the humor in life’s everyday situations. This iterative, week-by-week approach empowers each student to harness their inherent potential, culminating in their transformation into skilled improv artists.
Learning Goals
Students will improve their understanding and execution of the six tenants of good improvisation comedy: agreement, active listening, being present, staying positive, being open to change, and taking risks.

Parental Guidance
As you may know, improvisation comedy can be a lot of fun, but it also involves creating scenes and characters on the spot, which can sometimes lead to comedic premises or situations that some may find to be out of the ordinary or even uncomfortable. But don't worry, as your instructor, my job is to keep everything in check and make sure that all participants feel safe and comfortable during our class. I will be closely monitoring and redirecting any scenes or exercises that may veer into sensitive territory, and will always prioritize the well-being of our participants while continuing to encourage creativity and risk taking.
