✍️ MATERIALS: * A bean bag or hacky sac for movement activities (and adequate space away from the desk to be able to move) * Crayons or color pencils * Unlined paper or notebook * Water bottle * Optional for hands-on learning: 100 popsicle sticks and 10 rubber bands to make bundles * For Week 5 castle craft: glue, scissors, cardstock
The movement activities will improve the children’s ability to balance on one leg. The movements will be done at a gradual and comfortable pace. They will be comprised of the children standing on one leg and slowly tossing a bean bag from the left hand to right hand, and back; tossing the bean bag from the palm of one hand to the back of the same hand, and back; and dropping the bean bag in a straight line from one hand to the hand below, and back. The children will alternate to the other leg and repeat the movements. We will introduce simultaneous skip counting and tongue twisters to allow the children to focus and be present in their body while working with math and speech. During these 3 minute warm-ups, parents could accompany and supervise their children. Children should have space away from walls and furniture pieces, and footwear which provides good support.
