NEW TO CODING? Learners will begin their journey through creative coding with Scratch! We offer this camp both as a one-week camp OR a once-a-week course: For our 6-week course view We also have private and semi private lessons available. WHAT IS SCRATCH? Scratch is a block-based visual programming language especially developed for new and young Coders. Using Scratch will equip your child with digital literacy skills: such as Coding, Problem Solving and Collaboration. SCRATCH IS A LOT OF FUN! It is a very user friendly program that enables kids to grasp coding concepts in a fresh and straightforward way. As children create and experiment with Scratch, they learn to think creatively, work collaboratively, and reason systematically. New and young learners can quickly become independent creators! WHAT WILL THE COURSE COVER? This is a project-based course where learners will complete an interactive projects or game in each class. They will learn new coding concepts: such as loops, repeats, conditional statements plus much more! With each new project campers will build on their skills, for example, drawing and animating characters and coding movement. As they progress through the course, they will acquire all the skills needed to make a game from start to finish all on their own! SCRATCH CAMP OUTCOMES (1) Boost your child’s: self-esteem, independence and creativity.
