Assessment
I am a huge advocate for assessing the individual on what he/she has learned after each class setting. I will provide assessments for in class and/or take-home assignments (at request). I will always strive to make them fun, not boring! Some may be in a game format. Who doesn't like to play games?! :-) Although, not required, I encourage each student to take part in the assessments as a helpful learning tool.

Class Experience

US Grade Preschool - Pre-Kindergarten
Beginner - Intermediate Level
In this class, your little learners will engage in storybook reading and be prompted to respond to the different events happening in the story! They will be introduced to the setting, characters, and the story's plot! They will recognize letters, words, and even start to form sentences.

What's even more exciting is that in this Academy, not only will we focus on reading and game assessment, but we will supplement with a fun hands-on activity your child is sure to enjoy!

And that's not all! To top it off, we will have time allotted during our class session for your little ones to let their wiggles out through movement!

You are welcome to join any week that interests you or stay with us for several weeks to watch how your child develops in this class. Below is a list of storybook themes that we will cover for several weeks.

Week of January 22: Kindness
Week of January 29: Family
Week of February 5: Growing Up
Week of February 12: Friendship
Learning Goals
Students will improve reading comprehension, letter and word recognition, and social skills. They will also be engaged in visuals and gaming assessments. They will be able to make real world connections through each story we read in class.

I am a former English Language Arts teacher. I currently homeschool my three sweet children, ages 8, 3, and 1. I have found even more passion for teaching since teaching from home. I plan to share that passion with your little learners.

I also started and facilitate two reading book clubs from ages 3-12.
