This class is best suited for teens who are: 👍Fascinated by how the body works 👍Considering a career in health care 👍Looking for high school science classes Class is led by an expert guide: 👍A chiropractor and acupuncturist who loves anatomy 👍A veteran teacher with over 20 years experience at the college and high school level 𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐭𝐨 𝐄𝐱𝐩𝐞𝐜𝐭 𝐃𝐮𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐂𝐥𝐚𝐬𝐬 Learners will join an interactive lecture using Nearpod.com. Learners will be engaged in group quizzes/trivia, matching games, drawing and discussions on health and disease. Topics covered will include: ✅ the characteristics of life ✅ how living things are organized ✅ and introduction to the organ systems 𝐂𝐥𝐚𝐬𝐬𝐫𝐨𝐨𝐦 𝐏𝐨𝐥𝐢𝐜𝐢𝐞𝐬 ✨As per Outschool policy, 𝘢𝘭𝘭 𝘭𝘦𝘢𝘳𝘯𝘦𝘳𝘴 𝘮𝘶𝘴𝘵 𝘤𝘩𝘦𝘤𝘬-𝘪𝘯 𝘰𝘯 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘪𝘳 𝘸𝘦𝘣𝘤𝘢𝘮𝘴. I encourage webcams to stay on, but it is not mandatory. ✨ If a learner needs to miss a class, please let me know in advance. Learners who miss a class have access to class material and recordings. Transfers or refunds for the week are an option.

My experience in teaching started when I was in high school as a math and ESL tutor. I majored in life sciences at Queen’s University in Ontario with a minor in psychology. I moved to North Carolina and practiced for 5 years as a chiropractor and acupuncturist before starting a family and embarking on a second career as a university instructor. I have been teaching anatomy & physiology and medical terminology for over 15 years.
