Class Experience

US Grade 1 - 3
Beginner - Intermediate Level
Does your child have a wild imagination? Do you hear stories of dragons, tigers, princesses, and characters with wonderfully imaginative character traits and maybe even special powers? We will teach them to harness, organize, and express those ideas in a written story with illustrations and a cover.

Using example passages from ๐˜›๐˜ฉ๐˜ฆ ๐˜”๐˜ข๐˜จ๐˜ช๐˜ค ๐˜›๐˜ณ๐˜ฆ๐˜ฆ ๐˜๐˜ฐ๐˜ถ๐˜ด๐˜ฆ books, young authors learn tricks of the trade such as how to develop a character with flaws, strengths, conflicting desires, problems, friendships, and enemies. ๐Ÿ‘ธ

They practice using the five senses to write descriptively as they develop a setting nobody has ever experienced before. ๐Ÿœ๏ธ

Last, they learn to organize their ideas so that their stories have a coherent plot with an adventure or problem for their main character to experience.

As they write, they also illustrate, bringing another element to their storytelling and another opportunity to express the creative ideas living in their imaginations. ๐Ÿ–๏ธ

From outer space to the ocean's depths, from a new world in the center of the earth to a cutesy corner of a special fantasy land, they will travel wherever their imagination dreams and learn to write!
