---------------This is part two of this course.--------------- ---------------This class begins with lesson sixteen.-------- Town Mouse and Country Mouse is Level Two in the Fix-It series. This class is suited for students who have completed the first fifteen lessons. Fix-It! Grammar: Town Mouse and Country Mouse is a fun and engaging way to teach learners English grammar. Students will go sentence by sentence in an ongoing story and hunt for grammar errors, fixing them along the way. Learners will rewrite the sentences correctly. Students will need the student book for Fix It! Grammar: Town Mouse and Country Mouse https://iew.com/shop/products/fix-it%E2%84%A2-grammar-level-2-town-mouse-and-country-mouse-student-book Students will need a dictionary (or a way to define assigned terms). Students must have access to Nearpod.com. It is beneficial if students can annotate in class when asked to do so. Chromebooks do not allow this feature. Students using Chromebooks will be invited to participate in the chat or on the mic. Students will need their workbooks during class. Class time will be spent teaching the new lesson and reading and correcting at least the first sentence. Students will be expected to complete any sentences that we do not get to during class time as homework. Students will complete some review lessons as homework. The following topics will be covered (some review lessons will be assigned as homework) Week 1: Adverb clauses, prepositional phrases Week 2: Possessive adjectives Week 3: Subject sentence openers Week 4: Prepositional sentence openers Week 5: Verbs Week 6: -ly adverb, sentence openers Week 7: Strong verbs, quality adjectives, and -ly adverbs Week 8: Coordinating conjunctions Week 9: Quotation marks Week 10: Adverb Clauses Week 11: Adjectives and Adverbs Week 12: Prepositions *************************************************************** Before taking this class, students should complete Town Mouse and Country Mouse part one (or lessons 1-15). ***************************************************************
Learning Goals
Students will continue to define and label parts of speech, explain basic comma and capitalization rules, be introduced to complex sentence patterns, and more.
Students will practice excellent handwriting by rewriting sentences in their notebooks.
Students will learn new vocabulary.

At times, learners may need help with using a dictionary, correcting sentences, or completing the review lessons. Learners are welcome to contact me through the class page for help as well.
