Class Experience

This class will meet live one time for 30 minutes and is intended for young learners ages 5 to 7 years old. We will create a fun directed drawing together of a ladybug. Directed drawings are step-by-step instructions modeled by the teacher to help learners complete a picture.

After our drawing, we will then write one sentence to go with our picture. The sentence will be "I see a ladybug". We will practice finger spacing, penmanship, and ending our sentence with a period.

We will then use watercolor paints to paint our picture. Because we are using paint, it is important to be aware of the learner's surroundings! A sheet may need to be placed under the artwork. Paper towels will need to be handy. Learners may wear a smock to help protect their clothes.

*It is important to note that a one-page handout will need to be printed on CARDSTOCK paper prior to class time.

These skills will help build fine motor skills in learners and will also introduce sentence structure in a fun and creative way! I can't wait to write a sentence and paint with your child!
Learning Goals
Students will work to improve their fine motor skills during the directed drawing and their understanding of basic sentence structure.
