In this one-time class, learners will read a book by Lebron James inspired by his I PROMISE program that motivates children everywhere to always strive for greatness! The lessons presented in the book include the importance of setting goals, working hard, holding yourself accountable, and working together. This will be a reading/discussion-based class. Writing and drawing will be highly encouraged. There will be guided writing/drawing exercises to engage learners in creative thinking and open conversations related to the readings. Our prompts will be simple, powerful, and for you to remind yourself of your very own promises! Each learner will walk away with a mini booklet of lessons and goals inspired by this book! Learners are to feel comfortable sharing as much or as little as they would like along the way. I'm excited to delve into this book and the inspiring words of LeBron James with you!
Learning Goals
Inspired by the narrative and powerful illustrations, students will be motivated to always do the best for themselves and their community.
Students will be completing individual mini-books to keep lessons from the book and expand on topics with the class.
