Class Experience

In this ongoing class, students will learn about human anatomy as well as their own body parts. A slide show will accompany class discussion. Handouts will be provided to reinforce student learning. Body topics will include: the five senses, the brain, the heart, lungs, the digestive system, the elimination system, the skeletal system, and the largest organ of the body, the skin. We will discuss organ function, anatomical location, and interesting medical facts! Class handouts will be provided and can be colored and cut-out to become part of the body map! Medical terminology and scientific experiments are also part of class. Have you seen paper lungs breath? Or a model of the workings of the human heart? Come to class and learn how to make your own. Following class discussion, a Kahoot! game will be played to evaluate student understanding and because, it's a fun game!

In this ongoing class, students will be introduced to the following topics: the 5 senses, the brain and nervous system, the heart and cardiovascular system, the skeletal system, the muscular system, the respiratory system, the digestive system, the elimination system, blood and blood components, the endocrine system, the excretory system and renal system. Class will repeat topics and dive deeper into the human body.
A new semester is starting on January 4, 2022! Please, come join me!

Supply List
Learners will need a large piece of paper to trace an outline of their bodies on. I used wrapping paper. Not the strongest but it worked just fine. Crayons, markers and scissors will be needed to color and cut body parts for their BODY MAP! Worksheets will be available prior to class.
