In this exciting and Halloween themed poetry class, we will learn all about the acrostic poem. First, we will go over what the acrostic poem is and show a few examples. Then we will discuss important elements of an acrostic poem, and the steps that we can take to write an excellent Halloween themed poem. This class will help learners not only write a Halloween themed poem, but give them the knowledge to write any type of acrostic poem they wish to write. As the teacher, I will guide the students through examples and discussion. I expect that the learners come prepared to discuss and have fun as we dive in how to write fun poetry together. By the end of class every learner will have the knowledge required to write a fun acrostic poem. I will include fun printables so students can get started "write" away (pun intended)!
