This listing is for the one-time version of my multi-day Bibliography class. Students meet for one live meeting to practice making bibliographic entries and formatting a document in the correct style. Putting together a Bibliography (also known as a Works Cited Page) is an essential step when writing any kind paper that requires research. During this one-time class, learners will practice creating bibliographic citations in the most common style - APA Style. By the end of this class, learners will have the tools to write a bibliography and cite a variety of sources! Below are the types of sources we will choose from to create citations. We will create a citation for at least one of the three types of sources listed below: 1. Physical printed sources -Basic format for single and multi-volume sources -Books, academic journals, reference texts, magazines 2. Electronic media -Websites, blogs, YouTube videos, books and articles available online 3. Miscellaneous sources -Maps, letters, music, television shows, paintings and sculptures, interviews **The number of citations and variety of sources we cite will vary from section to section, so learners are encouraged to repeat this class until they feel comfortable generating citations for Bibliographies. Google Doc or Word Learners will need access to a word processor for this class. Along with learning how to cite sources, learners will also be practicing formatting their entries to create a bibliography from the sources used in class. To do correct tabs and punctuation, learners should have access to some sort of word processor, the most common being Google Docs or Microsoft Word. Students will be expected to type their bibliography entries during class. For visual learners, an abbreviated style-guide handout will be available to print before class starts which they can reference at any point during this class.
Learning Goals
Students will learn how to cite a variety of sources in APA Style. Learners will also learn how to format a Bibliography or Works Cited.

Teacher expertise and credentials
I am a professional historian and researcher with specializations in cultural and music history, European history, and Classics. I have worked on college admissions boards vetting application essays, edited papers for graduate and post-graduate researchers, and have taught Bibliography and humanities research courses. I am a very thorough editor with an eye for correct grammar, tonal and colloquial accuracy (using the correct tone based on the writing task), and fact checking. I focus on teaching students how to effectively edit their own work rather than simply telling them what to change.
