How to Make Ravioli With Mr.S
In this one day course I will demonstrate how to make ravioli from scratch, as well as, how to make the filling and sauce.
This will be a live video feed from my kitchen to yours. I will go step by step on how to make the pasta, how to roll out the pasta with a pasta machine or a rolling pin and how to form it into a filled ravioli with a delicious sauce.
In this class, I will be teaching the wonderful skill of making pasta from scratch. If you want to learn a life lesson , while being able to impress everyone, making pasta from scratch covers both.
This will be a cooking class, so there will be heat and the use of knives involved. Besides being a Social Studies teacher, I also worked professionally in kitchens for thirteen years. Cooking and knowledge are two pursuits of passion in life. I take cooking and safety(including sanitation) very seriously.
0For this class the students will need: 2 cups of All Purpose Flour(extra flour for rolling out the dough) 3 large eggs 1Tbls of Olive Oil 2 tsp of salt 15 oz container of Ricotta Cheese(you can use low fat if you prefer) half of a 10oz bag of spinach(or 5oz's); if you can't find a bag, you can use a bunch of fresh spinach A cup and a half of heavy whipping cream 7 cloves of garlic 1/2 a cup of grated Parmesan Cheese 1 medium-sized Shallot Salt and Pepper to taste *Chopped parsley and a lemon to juice to finish the sauce Equipment: Your Hands A Chef knife or a knife the can be used to cut or chop well Pasta roller or regular rolling pin Medium sauce pan Good-sized stock pot for boiling the water to cook the Ravioli Strainer or Colander Serve on your favorite plate and enjoy!
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
We will be working with knives to do some light dicing of onions and herbs. Students will be working with heat, as well, to boil the Ravioli when finishing the product. I will go over the proper way to hold a knife, and the proper way to hold the item that is being diced. I posted the ingredients list, so, if there are any allergy or food restrictions, please inform me before the class starts. Thank you very much!
