Boba tea is a traditional drink originating in Taiwan that has become quite popular across the world. Boba tea is said to boost your immune system and provide energy. In this fun and tasty one-time course, students will learn how to make traditional boba tea, using tapioca pearls, black tea, and milk. We will also try additional additives like chunks of our favorite fruit, flavor syrups, etc. Please note this is a cooking class. Students will need the ingredients and equipment listed...
Students will need: 1 5 oz (or larger) package of uncooked black tapioca pearls, available at your local specialty food store or online A black tea teabag small sauce pan to boil water a medium colander to drain cooked tapioca milk glass full of ice sugar, to taste optional: a giant straw and small chunks of favorite fruits or flavor syrups, like strawberry, make the experience even more fun!
Students will need to be able to manage boiling water, including using a colander to drain it off the tapioca pearls, or have adult supervision during class to assist.
