Learning to read and write sight words is an important skill both for Reading and Writing fluency. In this class, I will teach your child various ways to practice their sight words using different learning styles. The goal of the class is not to teach your child new sight words to memorize, but to teach them ways that THEY can practice the particular words they are working on in a fun way. I will model various ways to practice, and students will have the opportunity to practice as well. A printable worksheet with the different activities and printable sight word lists per grade level will be provided. Because this class teaches strategies, it is appropriate for the beginning reader through intermediate (K-3). I will model using various materials including play dough, wikki sticks, magnetic letters, a chalkboard and water, a salt tray, and Cheerios. Students are encouraged to use these or similar materials as well.
