⭐This a one-time self-paced class. There will be no live meetings. In this class, students will learn how to draw and paint 'Lovely Flowers' inspired by French artist Berthe Morisot! Designed with beginners in mind, this pre-recorded video class is suitable for ages 8-12. The teaching process used for the drawing portion of this class is a step-by-step method that will inspire students into creative action! This process involves observing, following instructions, and creating until each student is happy with the outcome. Students will learn basic drawing and tempera/acrylic painting techniques and apply these techniques to complete this project. This drawing and painting class is designed to give beginner artists the skills they need to jump-start their artistic journey into self-expression, reflection, and creative thinking. Included with this class is a short Berthe Morisot biography video. This informational video includes images and facts about Morisot and is suitable for all ages. Supplies and materials needed for this class: +thick white paper (watercolor paper works great!) +tempera or acrylic paints (black, white, and your choice of colors) +paint brushes +pencil with an eraser +paper plate (to use as a palette) +paper towel Total time needed for students to complete this project is approximately 50 minutes: 25 minutes to draw and outline the design with black tempera/acrylic paint (let dry completely before beginning the next step) and 25 minutes to paint the design with tempera/acrylic paints. This is a self-paced video class where students may proceed through the art lesson at their own pace. Video may be paused at any time. There will be no live meetings, however, I will be available for questions and gentle encouragement. It is important to me that your learner's experience is a positive one. My teaching style is relaxed, supportive, joyful, and fun. I encourage students to add their own details to their masterpiece to make it unique. I'm open to any comments, questions, or feedback that you may have.

Drawing and Painting 'Lovely Flowers' with Tempera or Acrylic Paints
In this drawing and painting class, we will discuss the art supplies needed for this project. We will review composition and placement of shapes and lines on our paper. Using a pencil, we will then combine shapes and lines to create Lovely Flowers. Once our drawing is complete, we will outline our design with black tempera/acrylic paint, then let it dry. Finally, we will discuss the application of paints and begin painting the design. We will discuss paint color, value, and implied texture.
