Learn to draw long animal fur and draw a cute highland cow! This lesson for intermediate-advanced students will review the value scale and shading techniques. We will discuss how to look for the shapes, shadows and highlights in long fur or hair. After practicing some different fur and shading, we will begin to sketch our highland cow together using a provided reference photo. The teacher will offer guidance and advice as we draw. Students are highly encouraged to ask any questions they might have throughout the class. *Please note that students might not complete their drawing in class. They are encouraged to take the techniques we learned to finish at home.
Learning Goals
Students will understand how to observe highlands and shadows to draw more realistically. They will learn to create different results using various pressure and pencil strokes.

-Sketchbook or several sheets of printer paper -Pencil set (if unavailable, an HB/#2 pencil will be fine) -Eraser -Pencil sharpener -Mechanical pencil
