Intermediate - Advanced Level
I will teach artists how to identify shapes and lines in this advanced drawing class where we sketch Fury Bowser! I will guide the process step-by-step. I recommend learners use a pencil to start with for Fury Bowser. Using a sketchpad or watercolor paper is also ideal, however plain printer paper will work as well. (My class image example was done on printer paper!) For this class, we will sketch out the figure together - and make plans for coloring after class. We will discuss some coloring options and techniques. This is a beast of a drawing, so expect quite a bit of time to be spent just sketching out the figure. We will also discuss some of the unique light and shadow patterns on Fury Bowser, and why they don't follow typical rules. During the flex video lesson, students will need to have a pencil and paper. After, students can use any coloring utensil they prefer! Crayons, colored pencils, paint, pastels, the sky is the limit! Markers are not recommended for this drawing, but every artist can choose for themselves! All learners are encouraged to share final artwork in the classroom after they have it completed. While this is an art-based course, we want to also feel like a community, and get to know others who share a love for Super Mario Bros. This one can be tricky for new artists, so some drawing experience is helpful, though not required. In this class, we draw Bowser in his Fury form from the popular game, Bowser's Fury!

Hello, I'm Ms. Jes!
In my classes, kids unleash their inner artist using favorite characters and games that I’m just as passionate about as they are. We explore spontaneous creativity and embracing “mistakes”. Let’s start drawing outside the box!
I am most passionate about teaching art and learning in unique ways. My approach to teaching infuses encouragement and optimism while having fun and connecting with a new generation over shared interests. Every child is special and celebrated for being who they are! No matter the class, I believe in positively approaching learning and finding joy in it.
• Outside of Outschool, I founded a nonprofit youth performing arts academy in 2015.
