What Will be Taught and Topics Covered: 1. Parts of a typical planner (calendar, schedule, lists, etc) 2. Why use a planner? (forgetful, not enough time, more responsibilities) 3. How to use it (time block, color codes, post-its, prioritize and organize) 4. What to write (homework, projects, chores, birthdays, etc.) 5. Extras, personalize (planning past the school day) 6. Troubleshooting (use your planner to help with other problems in other areas) Class Structure, Interaction, & Teaching Style I will show a slideshow and lecture followed by a class discussion. Students are encouraged to ask questions and give examples of how they could use the techniques/ideas in their own planners. I am a very patient, encouraging, and affirming teacher. Everyone should have a cheerleader to tell them, "Awesome! You did such a great job!" (adults included :)) All levels of creative-proficiency, organization gurus/amateurs, and stressed-procrastinators are encouraged to join.
Students should leave class with lots of ideas how to begin (or expand upon) using a planner and incorporating it into their academic and personal lives.
Students should bring to class: - a planner they are already using (or trying to use); OR a notebook they intend to use as a planner; OR blank paper to take notes or jot down ideas to incorporate in a future planner - a pen or pencil - highlighters/markers (optional)
Hello! My name is Courtney and I am very passionate about all things arts and crafts! I have ten years of teaching experience (public school, religious education, tutoring, manager training, online ESL) I have been teaching online full-time for a year and a half and I absolutely love it.
While I was earning my Bachelor's Degree I took at least ten art classes (painting, mixed media, drawing, 2D design, ceramics, etc).
When I'm not teaching or doing arts and crafts I'm decorating cake/cookies or playing with my one-year-old daughter and our two small dogs.
I hope to see you in the classroom! :)
