In this interactive course, I will talk about the various tasks lawyers do, but will focus more on the steps to become a lawyer in the United States. I am practicing attorney in Florida and previously served a director of admissions and registrar at a law school in Michigan. I have had to comb through applications, travel the country to recruit applicants, and interview prospective students. In this class we will discuss pre-law majors, the admissions test for law school (the LSAT), what happens in law school, the Socratic method, and the bar exam. We will go over steps students who aren't in college yet can do to prepare for a career in the law, or if they are undecided, to explore the field of law. I will chart out a path to show students what they can expect in their steps to becoming a lawyer. My classes are highly interactive and I look forward to hearing from and engaging in a discussion with the students.
