Class Experience

In this one-time class, the student will learn how to tie the most useful knots starting with the bowline knot. It has been said that the bowline is the most useful knot in the world because it's secure, it will not slip, it can be used to tie two ropes together, and it has many other applications. If the student learns it quickly we can move on to a Sheet Bend which is good for tieing two lines together of different diameters. The teacher will sometimes use pictures and diagrams to teach each knot. The student will get to practice each knot with the teacher assisting and learn to master it! We will also discuss what application to use each knot in.

My name is Billy, growing up my family lived far away from the town which taught me to be self-sufficient and to feel capable of facing just about anything! It's this confidence that I want to teach my students! I have been a teacher for 25 years. I have 3 adventurous sons that I have been able to assist in reaching above grade level in all subjects. I also have been teaching children online for the last 3 years. My family is always up for our next adventure! We are currently living in our 3rd country and are loving learning about different cultures and people. As a lifelong learner myself, I strongly believe that learning should be fun, and we should be able to see how it will apply in our lives, so this is the approach I take in my classroom. I have my bachelor's degree in teaching. I teach life skills, relationship skills, and all about animals. Please join me for an exciting class that you won't soon forget.
