In this one-time course we will cover a brief history of house plants and the benefits they have to humans. We will also discuss the connection to the outdoors they bring inside and the qualities many house plants are chosen for. We will then discuss the basic needs of the majority of house plants including: garden pots, soil, window placement and light, water and nutrition. We will also cover plant pests, propagation, and controlled growing environments. This class will be lectured through presentation slides, there are 11 slides with substance on them, we will spend 3-5 minutes discussing and reading the information on each slide together as a class. This class is for beginning growers and is designed for limited prior knowledge. Knowing elementary seed and plant science will help your student retain and use the information in this course.
Learning Goals
Students will learn new terms pertaining to horticulture and plant sciences. Your learner will learn about the options they have when it comes to soil, pottery, water, nutrition, pest control, and propagation of house plants. Your learner will have the opportunity to obtain tips and knowledge to grow house plants on their own as a beginner.

Canva will be used to run a slide show with information relevant to class discussion. Teacher will screenshare the presentation; no Canva account is needed for the student.
