Class Experience

US Grade 6 - 9
In this five-week two-day club learners will follow a slide presentation screen shared through zoom. No account is needed for this course. Students will cover 10 different popular, rare, unique, common, or beginner indoor house plant species. Included in the lecture for each species is the: common name, scientific name, variety name (if applicable), growth habit, optimal growth conditions, propagation methods, and images for identification and visual. Live specimen will be shared on screen if available.
No quiz or assessment will be given. Note-taking and self-study at home is encouraged to help learners retain some of the smaller or intricate pieces of information like the scientific names. Class will be twice for one week for 45 minutes per class. 10 different species will be covered per class meeting. 
This is a beginning course, no prior knowledge about indoor plants is necessary, general knowledge of plant science will be helpful.
Learning Goals
Students will expand their knowledge of common, popular, rare, and beginning indoor house plants. Students will be provided the opportunity to learn the common name, scientific name, and just a few variety names for 33 different plants. They will learn some of the needs, demands, and qualities these plant species possess.

Parental Guidance
Class is conducted over Zoom through Outschool. Teacher will screen share a presentation designed on Canva. No account is needed for parent or students on Canva for this course.
Supply List
No supplies are necessary for this course but pen, pencil, and paper is heavily encouraged for note taking during this week-long course.
