US Grade 3 - 6
This class is designed to provide personalized math support for students in grades 3-8 who are currently enrolled in our courses. During these sessions, learners can ask questions about their math homework, review tricky concepts, or receive one-on-one tutoring. Our goal is to boost students' confidence and help them master math skills. Students should be enrolled in one of the following math courses: Math 3 Math 4 Math 5 Math 6 Pre-Algebra What will be taught and what topics will be covered? The content is flexible and driven by each learner’s needs and current assignments. This may include arithmetic, fractions, decimals, geometry, algebraic concepts and more. The topics we cover depend on what each student needs help with, such as understanding long division, solving equations, working with fractions, or preparing for math tests. We focus on the specific areas where students need extra support. How is the class structured? Each session begins with students sharing their math assignments or areas they find challenging. We then work together through one-on-one instruction or small-group problem-solving, ensuring personalized attention. Sessions are structured to be efficient and affordable yet adaptable to each learner. NOTE: This class can range in age from 7-13 years old. Because this is a group class, there may be discussion of different topics occurring within the same session. There may be learners from multiple classes. The goal is to provide individualized support in a group setting. Learners are expected to participate respectfully, ask questions and work on homework or individual work during the session. What teaching or instructions methods are used? We use an interactive and supportive teaching style, breaking down math concepts with clear, step-by-step explanations. We may use visual aids, diagrams, and practice problems to make learning engaging. Our approach emphasizes problem-solving and real-world applications to keep math fun and relatable. For most sessions, the material will be screen-shared by the teacher. Depending on the student's individualized goals for the session, the teacher may utilize Outschool-approved third-party apps such as Google Docs, Google Slides, Nearpod, Blooket, Gimkit or Quizizz. Students will not need an account to use any of these apps. The link to access the material will be shared through that chat feature within Zoom. Any additional requirements will be shared with the parents via the Outschool message system. What's is the teaching style? We create a welcoming and stress-free learning environment, using patience, encouragement, and detailed guidance. We aim to make math understandable and enjoyable, empowering students to feel accomplished and motivated to learn more. How much will learners get to interact with the teacher? Learners will have plenty of live, real-time interaction with the teacher. The session is entirely dedicated to helping students with their specific math needs through direct instruction, group discussion, or hands-on practice. Students can ask questions and get immediate feedback. Whether your child needs help solving a complex math problem, reviewing for an upcoming test, or a quiet, structured place to study with expert guidance, this class is here to support them. Please make sure your child brings their math homework, class notes, or any materials they need to make the most of our time together! Not a current student? Please message us first.
