Homeschool Social Hub
Class experience
At Hub of Curiosity, diversity is celebrated, and every learner’s unique journey is embraced. Our social group offers a supportive and engaging environment where homeschooled kids and teens can connect, explore their interests, and create lasting memories with their peers, contributing to their overall happiness and well-being. Our sessions are moderated by experienced educators who aid in steering the conversation and initiating connections, where needed. However, our learners are the...
Julie-Anna was a homeschooled learner, now turned homeschool mom. In addition to her role as a homeschool educator, she has taught piano and yoga for years. She has experience working with children between the ages of 3 and 18 years of age, as well as a variety of neurotypes. She has worked as a ghost writer, copy-editor, and proofreader, and is currently working on her Level-5 TEFL certification. Julie-Anna loves teaching creative writing because of her own love for the written word. Books were her first and lasting love and she never leaves home without a book, a journal, and a beautiful fountain pen. Some of her favorite authors are C.S. Lewis, Jane Austen, and Charles Dickens. Amanda has taught/tutored in a range of environments including elementary school, high school, and after school homework programs. She was even the editor-in-chief of her own school newspaper, so these sessions bring her right back to her roots! Amanda also absolutely loves to travel! Domestic or international, from budget to luxury, and from backpacking to cruising. Amanda loves to see the world! She has visited more than 80 countries (26 with her child). Amanda is a homeschool parent to a wonderfully inquisitive 2e 4th grader. She graduated from DePaul University with a B.A. in Communications and Political Science and brings a wealth of experience to our classroom. Lili’s current homeschooling class-of-one is exceptionally lucky to have such a dedicated teacher all to herself. Lili, an ADHD adult, earned her Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Elementary Education in the Dominican Republic before later earning her Master of Arts in Education from the University of Alabama Birmingham. She brings to our classroom years of experience in a variety of classroom settings, including a dual-language immersion middle school program. Lili’s learners can expect her to cheer their successes and support them through their struggles. She’s passionate about interest-led learning and loves to dive into a unit study!
