Class Experience

US Grade Kindergarten - 3
In this ongoing class, which meets twice a week, learners will practice their social skills, such as: learning to relate to their peers, waiting their turn, encouraging one another, and making friends.

The Class Structure:
In this social club, learners will have the opportunity to meet with their peers, twice a week, to make new friends, talk to kids their own age, and learn and develop new social skills.
Throughout our 20 minutes, learners will each be given time to share the best part of their week, and one thing they are excited about in their upcoming day. Students will be encouraged to interact with one another, giving encouragement, and finding ways to relate to their peers while sharing. We will practice taking turns, listening when others are talking, and fostering empathy towards our friends. Throughout our courses, students will learn to improve their language skills, grow in their confidence in speaking in front of others, and gain resilience toward conversing with those they are meeting for the first time.
Students will also be encouraged to build themselves up, as well as their peers, helping them to learn the skills of encouragement and self-esteem. Learners will be asked to share one thing they are proud of themselves for. Their peers are given the opportunity to cheer and support their friends as they share the things they are proud of, thus developing a mentality of encouragement and support.

Do note that class content will not be built upon, as this is a social group. New friends are welcome to join us at any point throughout the summer to join in the fun! :)

I have a bubbly, bright, and fun personality, and I love to spend time connecting with kids to help them grow. It is one of my greatest joys to get to teach.

My Teaching Style:
My goal as a teacher is to make each student feel seen, loved, appreciated, and encouraged throughout our class time. I desire each student to leave class feeling better and brighter than when they logged in. I believe in positive encouragement, and helping my students find their confidence in who they are, along with making sure they have fun during our time together.
I graduated with a bachelor's in Psychology, specifically focused on adolescent Psychology. Bringing this information into my classrooms helps me to connect with the students, grow their social abilities, understand where they are within their formative years, and create a more inviting and safe environment for every student to learn.
