REFUND POLICY: Hub of Curiosity wants parents and caregivers to be able to enroll in our classes with peace of mind. We are busy parents as well and understand that life happens! The refund policy for Hub of Curiosity classes is as follows: Semester-length co-ops are fully refundable until 30 days prior to the start of class. As this is a multi-disciplinary course, our learning goals are nearly endless. Learners will: -Explore a wide variety of cultures and time periods through our selection of novels - Complete a biographical presentation on a figure they’d like to know more about which provides them with research, presentation, and digital design skills. - Embody various roles within the field of journalism while simultaneously building teamwork, communication, and time management skills. - Gain confidence in the kitchen while better understanding culture and geography. - Express themselves through a short film while learning the planning, editing, and marketing skills necessary to debut a film. - Gain a better understanding of various neuro-types and enhance their interpersonal relationships as a result. - Delve into the world of logistics and planning during our virtual field trip while simultaneously enhancing their research, digital preparation, and presentation skills.
Teacher Kate (she/her): Kate is an accomplished film-maker and passionate bookworm. She has taught learners between the ages of 2 and 15 abroad in both Germany and Japan. Kate has a wide foundation of teaching experience from teaching middle schoolers to teaching English as a second language in Tokyo. She varies her teaching style to meet learners where they are and modulates her approach to suit all neurotypes. She brings a sense of calm to the classroom that provides an ideal environment for learners to thrive. Her teaching style is clear, passionate, and supportive.

Ingredients: Butter, granulated sugar, eggs, flour, baking powder, apple, powdered sugar, ghee, baking powder, almonds, walnuts, cinnamon, cloves, phyllo dough, honey, lemon or orange zest, milk, sweetened condensed milk. Heavy whipping cream, nonfat milk powder, cardamom, salt, saffron or turmeric (optional), cashews, pistachios, almond extract, brown sugar, vanilla extract, salt, shredded coconut, bread crumbs, cocoa powder, whipped cream, matzo, semi-sweet chocolate chips, and evaporated milk. Kitchen tools: Most kitchen tools necessary are everyday items. The one item of note is that learners will need an electric mixer (either hand or stand mixer). ALL nuts can easily be omitted to accommodate allergies. Please notify us of any allergies and we will assist with accommodations and substitutions wherever possible. Learners will also need a phone or camera with video capability for our filmmaking segment. Participants will be utilizing Adobe Premier Pro for video editing. This program offers a 7-day free trial.
