Class Experience

Is your child struggling with the transition to homeschooling because they miss their friends and the social aspects of school? You’re not alone. Many moms face the same challenge—kids who are excited to learn at home but deeply miss the friendships and connections they had at school.

That’s why we created the Homeschool Friends Club—a place where your child can make new friends, share laughs, and still enjoy that sense of community they’re longing for. Here, they can join other homeschoolers in fun activities, games, and projects that make learning exciting and social.

Homeschool Hangout Club is a lively space where homeschool and online learning friends connect through fun activities and social time. Each week, we’ll explore different pre-selected topics such as travel, family, and favorite hobbies.

The class is structured around engaging group discussions, interactive games, and sometimes, creative projects. I’ll guide the conversations and activities, ensuring everyone gets a chance to share and participate. My goal for providing this class is to help learners make new friends, enjoy meaningful social interactions, and have fun! Join us for a great mix of socializing and creativity!

What We Do:

Discussions: Pre-selected topics that encourage social interaction, etiquette, active listening, and sharing personal experiences.

Games: Fun games that let kids work together and form bonds with their peers.

Creative Projects: At times, we will have hands-on projects that allow them to express themselves while connecting with others.

Friendship Time: Dedicated moments for kids to chat, share stories, and build friendships, just like they would in school.

Why Join? We understand that homeschooling can sometimes feel isolating, especially when your child misses the daily interactions with friends. This club is designed to fill that gap. It’s a space where kids can connect, laugh, and be themselves—making the homeschooling journey a little easier and a lot more fun for both of you.

Teacher Expertise and Credentials
I am a certified K-12 teacher with over 15 years of experience in both in-person and online education. My expertise spans not only academics but also fostering social skills and connections among students. I have a strong background in creating supportive, engaging environments where kids can thrive both socially and academically.

About Me
I founded Purpose Prep Academy with a passion for personalized, holistic education. Over the years, I've seen the importance of social interaction in learning, especially for homeschooled and online students who might miss out on traditional school friendships. My goal is to provide a space where students can connect, have fun, and build lasting friendships while learning essential social skills.

A Fun Fact About Me
While I’m serious about education, I believe in the power of play and creativity. In my free time, I love working out, playing games, hosting activity nights, and making fun memories with my family. I bring that same energy and enthusiasm to the Homeschool Hangout Club, where fun and learning go hand-in-hand.

We can't wait for your children to have some social time. Since we believe socialization and play time is super important in the development of kids, we plan for these sessions to be ongoing from September to May, taking a short break in the summer months.

Class Start Time: Please have learners log in 2-3 minutes before the scheduled start time to ensure we can begin promptly.

Class Duration: While the goal is to complete the class within the scheduled time, the exact duration may vary depending on student participation and class size.

Late/Missed Class Policy: Classes will start on time if at least one learner is present. If no students join within 10 minutes of the scheduled start time, I will leave a message on the discussion board and exit the classroom. Recordings are available upon request.

Tardy Policy: If a learner arrives more than 10 minutes late, I recommend requesting a transfer to another session. I want to ensure that everyone has the best experience, and it can be difficult to catch up after missing a significant portion of the session.

Response Time: I will do my best to respond to messages within 24-48 hours. Please note that I will not be able to respond during class time but will get back to you after the session ends.

See you soon!
