Julie-Anna was a homeschooled learner, now turned homeschool mom. In addition to her role as a homeschool educator, she has taught piano and yoga for years. She has experience working with children between the ages of 3 and 18 years of age, as well as a variety of neurotypes. She has worked as a ghost writer, copy-editor, and proofreader. Additionally, Julie-Anna holds a B.A. and a Level-5 TEFL certification. She loves teaching creative writing because of her own love for the written word. Books were her first and lasting love and she never leaves home without a book, a journal, and a beautiful fountain pen. Some of her favorite authors are C.S. Lewis, Jane Austen, and Charles Dickens.

Please ensure the books on our “to be read” list fit your family’s content consumption standards.

Our second book selection is Trevor Noah’s Born a Crime. Two editions are available: the original and one adapted for young readers. The original is available in audiobook format and is truly, in many reader’s opinion, the best way to consume this incredible book. It will, however, contain some curse words. IF this violates your family’s content consumption guidelines, your learner can absolutely read the clean young readers edition and still wholeheartedly participate in class. We will publish two sets of weekly reading breakdowns so learners with both versions will have the guidance they need to prepare for class.

Additionally, the adult book discusses “Christmas magic” in a way that may spoil things for believers. I hesitate to write that more explicitly, but feel free to message us with any questions about this particular section of the book.
