***IF THERE ARE NO SPOTS AVAILABLE WHEN YOU CHECK, PLEASE SEND ME A MESSAGE AND I WILL ADD YOU TO A LIST OF PARENTS TO NOTIFY WHEN A SPOT OPENS.*** This class is designed to give students the opportunity to have daily social interaction with children their age to connect with each other and get to know new friends. We will begin each class by talking about the date and any interesting facts about it (first day of a new month, International Ice Cream Day, etc.). Then students can share any news they want to tell us about what they did yesterday, before class, or what they’re looking forward to doing later that day (a new toy, a movie they watched, a game they played, something they learned, etc.). This is a highly interactive and social class, so students will be able to comment or ask each other questions. Depending on how talkative the students are that day, I will also have some kid-friendly getting to know you questions, jokes, riddles, or other community-building activities to show with my shared screen. We will end class by voting on an optional challenge for the next day we meet (bring a favorite toy to show and tell, bring a kid-friendly joke to tell us, post a picture of your dinner to the classroom page, etc.). 🗓 SCHEDULE: This class will meet daily on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday beginning the last week of August 2024 and will continue meeting for the traditional school year months through June 2025. This is an ongoing class, so students are welcome to come and go for whatever weeks fit their schedule best. We will not meet over the summer of 2025. CLASS POLICIES ----------------- LATE ARRIVALS: I understand that sometimes your child may need to arrive late to class. Please remind your child to sign on quietly without interrupting class to respect the teacher and those who are already in class. I will greet your child when there is a natural stop in whatever we are doing at the time and involve them in the class. MISSED CLASS: Since this is a weekly class, enrolling saves a spot for students for the whole week. No other student may pay for or fill that spot for that week. Sometimes students have to miss one of the days for various reasons, but there is no refund for those missed days. Please send me a message if you would like me to share the class recording for a missed class so that your child can watch the playback. The other option is to pause your subscription for the week (must be done by the Sunday of the week of class to avoid being charged for the week).

Kahoot!: One of the activity choices the students may choose for getting-to-know-you games is Kahoot! An account is not required to use this resource and students do not need to use their real names when playing the Kahoot! game. Families may also opt for their child to participate by answering out loud rather than using the Kahoot! website.
